Thanks for the information about discovery magazine. We like to leave reading material on the student's tables so students can look through them if they are done with their work early. This is a resource I will be able to use.

There is a series of activities called ziploc chemistry. You can google it with Ziploc Chemistry, Chemistry in a plastic bag, and such. http://chemistry.about.com/od/chemistryexperiments/a/aa062204a.htm I point these out because the students won't be touching hazadous chemicals and will be using much smaller amounts. Teach them to observe in great detail and journal their results and you will be preparing them for great things. Good luck. Adah
