Teachers need to consider whether an experiment could be hazardous or not. Planning is the key component Ken Roy described in his article "Safer Science Explorations for Young Child." The teacher needs to plan ahead and look at all the factors included in an experiment. The materials should be scrutinized to avoid unsafe interaction with the children. This includes materials that might be allergenic, acidic, sharp, or not abled to be handled by students. The teacher should think of the outdoors components such as poisonous plants, insects, and animals.
