Using the NSTA Learning Center as an e-text
Fri Nov 24, 2017 7:38 AM
I have had several requests via private messages about how to use the NSTA Learning Center as a e-text. There are so many wonderful resources to chose from including science objects, journal articles, pod casts and web seminars just to name a few. If this is of interest to you please post a short description of what grade level/ content you plan to teach.
If you have found a resources that has help you please post it here, as well.
Let the discussions begin!
My best, Arlene

I'm still working to finish my degree in Elementary Education, but my science professor had us complete a science object as part of our course homework and I found it very helpful! One of my main worries of becoming a teacher was how I was going to teach kids concepts I didn't know very well myself, but science objects are so useful in helping me refresh my knowledge. I'm really glad she introduced us to the Learning Center.

Yes, I agree that science objects are a wonderful way to explore and refresh science content. I too use them with my preservice teachers
I was a guest presenter for this web seminar NSTA Learning Center: Enhance Your Content Knowledge with Science Objects
Here is the pdf of the presentation http://learningcenter.nsta.org/products/symposia_seminars/NL...7-2012.pdf
Anyone else use science objects to help with understanding science concepts?
