Hi all, I am doing a lesson segment about the Sun's energy and how it is renewable. Does anyone know of good resources for this topic or any fun hands on activities/experiments to do with upper elementary students? Thank you.

I think classroom management is one of the hardest things to master as a teacher. I am currently finishing up my student teaching and I have been constantly working on my management skills. I feel like kids respond better to positive rewards rather than negative punishment. I think having positive rewards in the class and giving students points for good behavior establish rapport with the students...

This has happened to me as well, but I think having a smile on your face when you get them from the morning assembly and asking them how they are doing shows them that you are interested in them. Showing interest in a student's life goes a long way even if it is just asking them about the book they are reading.

Water Cycle

6 Resources

My collection consists of resources that will help upper elementary school students learn about the water cycle. The resources in this collection will present students with information about each stage of the cycle: evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. Included in these readings are activities to use with students that will allow them to investigate the water cycle through hands on activities.
