I agree with all the suggestions that are made. Getting students engaged is challenging. I feel like we should first get to know our students. Ask them what they want to learn in science, what experiments they would want to do and what they would like to discover. It is important to know their interest first because what they are interest on is what you should focus on. Especially for girls focus ...

5 Collection Review
The collection that I am reviewing is Gabriela Frenero collection of the solar system. I chose her collection because I did a collection as well on the solar system and I wanted to compare what she found with what I had picked. I liked that she included an article that’s a teacher’s toolkit. This article talks about the solar system and how it’s hard to teach in a classroom because of all the elements that the solar system has. Also, I like that the article includes an experiment for the teacher to do with the student to see the how big the Earth and Moon really are compared to each other. Gabriela also added another article that is great for her to use which is the Science Sampler: Space Moves. This article also includes an activity and the solar system concept. I really like that it provides her with the content knowledge that she needs for the lesson as well as provide an activity that can then test the student learning of the content that she taught in her lesson.
