Any thoughts on students who have been absent for an extended period of time (week or more)? I have a couple students who went on a trip to Japan as part of an exchange program, and have been out for 10 days (plus 10 more days for spring break).

Hey Everyone, Has anyone used Kahoot as an actual assessment? I've used it in class for formative feedback, but I'm wondering if there are ways to use this as an actual assessment, while still maintaining academic integrity. Thanks, Alex K.

4 Useful in Organic Chemistry to Pique Interest
Stereochemistry is one of the hardest topics to teach in organic chemistry, so anything to make it relatable and applicable is useful. I used the molecules discussed in class with my students, and they enjoyed the discussion and found it interesting. While it didn't necessarily help in understanding, it did get students more interested in learning more (hence 4 stars, not 5)

5 Pharmaceutical Phriday
This resource is going to be VITAL to the success of my new creation, Pharamceutical Phriday. Every week I discuss a different medicine or drug that relates to our current topic in some way. This resource gives me a way to further my ability to inspire students to study pharmacology and appreciate how applicable organic chemistry is in their lives.

5 Pharmaceutical Phriday
Articles like this inspired my creation of Pharmaceutical Phriday in my Advanced Organic Chemistry class. Every Friday I try to discuss a different medicine that relates to our current topic in some way. My students love seeing how applicable organic chemistry is in their lives. This article helped me incorporate a discussion of cocaine-like drugs into a high school classroom in a professional and appropriate way.
