Hi Maureen, That sounds like an awesome idea! Definitely a fair share of work but I think it would be feasible, especially if we want to keep the students from missing out on a lot of valuable Science and Social Studies experience. I was actually going to ask about the whole integrating subjects idea but after reading your post, you seem to have a great strategy going! Integrating the subjects ...

Hi Lauren, Last spring I volunteered in a Kindergarten classroom and the kids went on a nature walk in the woods near the school. The point of the lesson was to identify signs of life/springtime and the kids got to take their own pictures that the teacher later made into a slideshow. They found caterpillars, sprouts emerging from the earth, and various other things in nature and it really capti...

I think it would be best to provide some guidance but let the kids choose their own topics for the most part. 5 Very Informative
This object took a little longer to complete but it was packed with a lot of interesting information! There were a lot of details about the different theories regarding Earth's orbit and how it relates to the Sun and other objects in space. They broke down the information in an organized format, presenting each theory in a concise manner, up until the most recent of heliocentric theories. Like I said, even though it took a while to complete, it was definitely worth it!

5 Great source!
I thought this object was an excellent resource for information about the seasons. At first I hadn't been clear on what exactly caused the various seasons on Earth but this object presented the information in a clear way and I feel like I could more easily explain the concept to someone else now. It was also straight to the point without filler information which is great when you need a quick reminder lesson to refresh yourself.
