I think students are naturally curious about thinks and science helps develop their curiosity through exploring. Science is all around us everyday and we can utilize that to get kids to explore and become engage. I believe you can start teaching science to children as early as 3-4 yr olds.

I think both ideas would be great. I remember being in school and my school having a small garden for us to work in. We learned about many different flowers, plants and fruits. It was very exciting watching what we planted and being able to eat the fruits. It was something that we looked forwarded to and I'm the students would as well.

I think this collection will be very useful and provides a lot of insight when teaching science. I think this collection would be helpful to not only the teacher but the students as well when learning about the environment around them and the changes that happens not only affecting us but everything around us.
