Nicolette Chetta

My name is Nicolette Chetta and I am currently at Senior at the University of Houston. I am born and raised in Texas! This past summer I became a newlywed and we are parents to one very spoiled chihuahua. I'm excited to begin my journey as a student teacher this year because I still have so much to learn. When I graduate, I hope to be able to teach Kindergarten through 2nd grade. GO COOGS!

Hi! I am also currently a preservice teacher and we recently did an activity in my university class over this. It might need to be adjusted so that it is age appropriate for your students but I thought it was a great way to show how far apart the planets are in our solar system.

Thank you for sharing this link! It looks like something the students in my CT's classroom would really enjoy!

I have found that when a science lesson is hands on, that students get extremely excited and want to participate in the lesson. Also, it helps if the teacher models her own excitement about the project. That will usually get student interest in the lesson.
