I am a preservice teacher as well! In class, we have discussed a lot of fun ways to get students engaged in the solar system. We used toilet paper and drew out the planets and their distance. This may be a little advanced for your students but it was fun activity for them to actually see how far the planets are from one another.

Good Morning Taylor! I am also a college student and struggle with including STEM into teaching because I am a history major! I have been looking around online and found this website to be very helpful! https://www.nwea.org/blog/2015/stem-primary-classroom-4-ways...education/ I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me! 4 Great Resource
This was a great overview of the basic vocab and information on abiotic and biotic factors. I felt it was perfect for an elementary classroom. There was great information but also useful tips in dealing with the classroom. Can't wait to use this in my classroom.

I really enjoyed this article. There were many great examples of hands on activities that I would love to use in my future classroom. It was very informative and I'll keep it in my library for a while!
