I think the learning center is a great tool for teachers to gain knowledge on the subject that they are going to teach. The SciPacks are great! They are filled with information and written in a way that anyone could understand. I also think that looking at videos of the topic helps a lot because it may give you a visual and a better understanding. Also, as it was mentioned, children's books, such ...

I do feel prepared to teach elementary science. I am currently taking the course "Teaching Elementary Science" in FIU and I definitely feel that this class has taught me and prepared me well to teach science to elementary school students. I know how to make inquiry lessons so that students can have a better learning experience and learn while they explore with only my guidance. I feel this is a gr...

5 Excellent!
This is a great collection! I would definitely use this collection to gain knowledge on force and motion. I was able to see a variety of resources I can use when I am a teacher. It is great that there are even web seminars that I could watch to learn about force and motion. There is also a variety in texts: book chapters, journal articles, and a scipack! This is over all a great took for teachers and I would definitely recommend this collection to any teacher who will have a lesson on force and motion. Excellent collection!

Earth, Sun and Moon

9 Resources

Rationale for the Selection of my Resources I have always been interested in knowing about the planets, the Sun, the Moon, the stars and overall, space in general. This is why I chose to teach a lesson on a concept related to space and, in order to start preparing myself, I chose the SciPack “Earth, Sun and Moon”. When I completed my SciPack, I knew I wanted to have more information on stars. This helped my decision in choosing to teach the concept of stars in space for my Field Assignment #4 and preparing my questions for the interviews in my Field Assignment #3. In order to get started on my lesson planning I started a collection named Earth, Sun and Moon. This collection has a variety of resource suited for elementary school students that include, a SciPack, Science Objects, and Book Chapters. I carefully chose these nine resources that relate to space and more specifically the stars. I decided to include the SciPack I completed because I feel that it has plenty of information and,
