I received my STEM certification from Teachers College Columbia University (NASA ENDEAVOR FELLOWS PROGRAM. I traveled with NSTA TO Shanghai, China and it was fantastic!! I continue to grow and develop for my students.

Hi Adah long time we have not communicated. As we are nearing the end of the school year, I know you and others are going to be busy planning and doing activities for the next school year. I'll be attending the Mickelson Exxon Mobile Teachers Academy this summer. Will you be there? I'd like to have some tips on planning for pre and post assessments for Science at the elementary level for K-5....

5 Content Literacy and Science Literacy (STEM)
I was very pleased to read this article because it simply reiterated what STEM educators endeavor on a daily basis to implement throughout the curriculum. In my classroom, I use the QAR method for everything. QAR has proven to be a very effective tool for my third graders. Yes, I wrote third graders. Students must be presented with rigorous lessons and presentations that infuse what they are learning and discoverying in and out of the classroom. Literacy (i.e., writing, drawing, comprehension, vocabulary, reading, language arts, and using prior knowledge) means students must learn to facilitate their own learning avenues and make self-assessments using critical thinking skills. Excellent literacy movements in the classroom will help students to reflect and demonstrate through reading and writing skills to clarify how they learn, what they learn, and how they can improve their own learning. Content and STEM liteacy assists students in ways that make sense and are tangible both ment
