Jessica Minton

I am in my 8.5 year teaching. I taught high school for the first 4 years-Biology, Physical Science, and Environmental Science. When I moved, I moved to middle school-6th grade. After a rocky year, I moved schools and became an 8th grade science, Honors Physical Science, and STEM teacher. Presently I am back in high school teaching Honors A&P, Honors Biology, and College Prep Skills. I love teaching and I don't know of anything else that I would rather do. I love the outdoors, reading, scrapbooking, and card-making. I feel I'm a crafty person and am hooked on Pinterest for ideas/projects. Dolphins and butterflies are my favorite organisms, and I am a sports nut. I love photography and take a lot of my own shots; including outdoors, weddings, family, architecture, etc.

I love the information that the SciPacks have to offer, but I have found several of the final assessments to be tricky. I agree with everyone's suggestions about going back over it and reviewing, but it is frustrating to review it and still not being able to pass given 3 chances. I have been very careful and fine-tooth combing all the information on the other SciPacks I've taken, though it's ter...

Thank you for the resources. I struggle with this because I want to do so much for my students, but sometimes it seems that our students get help in RLA and Math while they forget Science. I have been curious as to research that is our there trying to bridge the gap in Science Education and Special Education. What a passion of mine!!

5 Deeper Understanding
I remember having to learn photosynthesis and cellular respiration, but I don't remember understanding as much as I do now. I'm not an expert by any means, but this SciPack helped me wrap my mind around these hard topics.
