I currently teach in a Pre-Kindergarten Classroom. I have notice children at this age are very interested in science activities and incorporate these into our lesson plans daily. I am also working for my BA in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education Majors.

Hello, I'm a Pre-Service Teacher in Iowa.  I am curious to know what science-led field trips you have planned for your classroom?  How did you introduce the field trip?  Any tips you would like to share on preparing a science-led field trip?

Thank you for sharing this post. I have a science unit that  I do with my preschoolers, kitchen band, which is experimenting with sounds found in the kitchen.  Never thought of using a carrot to make an instrument.  It's intriguing to notice that you can make musical instruments out of almost anything.  Thanks again for sharing.

5 Paper Towers
Currently I am a pre service teacher and taking a teach science class. In class we did this lesson. We used literacy by making a graph on the dry erase board. Had a challenge to make the tallest paper tower using only 3 pieces of paper and a limited amount of tape within 15 minutes. Surprisingly I did not read this article before, but very informational. I was engaged and feel students would be just as engaged.

Interesting. This article included ways to get younger students to think about science through observation, experience, knowledge and revision due to new evidence.
