I have seen interactive notebooks used in class rooms that I have done field hours in, and loved them. I have also experienced an introduction to them and hands on practice in one of my early childhood college classes. I feel they are a great resource for students to use, look back on to remember information, and great to study from. Plus the hands on approach, I feel, helps students retain inform...

I love all the ideas and websites posted on here thus far. Salt dough is great for making your own fossil bones. There are many recipes and directions for this on Pinterest. It is fairly economical, especially if needed in large quantities. Another idea I had was buying cheap bags of toy dino-skeletons. My son has a large bag of these that we got at a dollar store I believe. As far as the kits g...

I enjoy reading about all the ideas and input that has been brought up here. As a month of a young girl who is interested in science and as a future teacher, I feel it is very important to grab your female students interest in STEM. Bring in females into your classrooms that belong in this field, show off the accomplishments of women in science, and encourage your female students, especially those...

4 Understanding NGSS
Though I was not able to attend the webinar when it was live, I have learned so much from the powerpoints and the information provided. As a future teacher I feel that this information gives me a better understanding of what the NGSS are and how they are meant to be implemented. I also feel I have gained a better understanding of how they work with the common core standards, next against them. I feel this resource will be one that I can turn to any time I need a little clarification or an example of how to implement an idea/concept.

4 Great food for thought
I am in my last year of school to become an early childhood teacher. During this process many facts, guidelines, and standards have been thrown my way to read, learn about, and know. I am so thankful I came across your article. It definitely helped point out very important facts about the NGSS and it helped to clear up items I was unsure about. I feel this information will help me in my future as a teacher keep on track and remember what the ultimate goal of teaching science is, to make sure your students are prepared for the world around them.
