Thu Nov 08, 2012 4:20 AM in End of the Science Lesson reflections
I took a course that had to do with assessments. For the course, we watched a video of a teacher allowing them time to share back their successes, problems they ran into, new things they discovered, if they had an area they wanted to go back and spend more time on. An end of the Science Lesson reflection/discussion which is student driven is helpful. I think that is important to give the stu...

I was talking to one of the parents who's child brought home the owl pellet. The child was so determined to keep the owl pellet so she would be able to study it under a microscope. Almost half of the school year is over. The one thing that I would like the students to walk away with is a love for Science and the desire to keep on learning more. 5 Electric and Magnetic Forces
The Electric and Magnetic Forces SciGuide was an excellent resource. Three fourths of the through the Electric and Magnetic Forces SciPack, I reviewed the SciGuide before planning my lesson. Reviewing the SciGuide was helpful because it provided a brief overview and then broke the topic into three different themes. Within the themes, it was very helpful to see different lessons plans, resources, quizzes for various grade levels. I was able to use the different ideas and resources to help plan my electricity lesson for the 4th graders.

5 Interdependence of Life SciGuide Review
I was blow away by the amount of lesson plan examples and resources that were available. It help to support the growth of my pedagogical knowledge. I was excited because the quality and superb online course and resources really pieced well with the SciPack. The SciGuide modeled how to deliver the content from the SciPack. The Interdependence of Life provided a sampling of the tiering or spiraling of the information from grades K to 6th grade. The Interdependence of Life SciGuide is a 5 star resource.
