I think that that is such a great idea. I know that I myself find it amazing how much we as teachers can learn from our students, imagine what they can teach their fellow students! I also firmly believe by teaching the concepts to the younger students they will obtain a firmer grasp on the concepts themselves. I think that it is wonderful that you have incorporated this into your curriculum! Let m...

I love Pinterest and feel that I am quite addicted like the rest of you ;) Anyway, I have found a couple of really cool experiments to do with children to get them thinking. A lot of the activities are very fun too! One of my favorites so far is a colored xylophone using glow sticks and glasses. It is a spin on the classic spin of the water xylophone making it even more exciting and enticing for c...

5 elements, atoms, and molecules
I have taken four other SciPacks before this one, and I think that this is the one that I understood the best. I am not sure if it is that I understood these concepts more than any of the others presented in previous SciPacks or not, but regardless I found this SciPack to be very educational. There were a couple of new concepts that I hadn't really understood before, and after going through this SciPack I feel like a have a better understanding of them. I strongly recommend this SciPack to anyone attempting to further their understanding of these concepts.

4 Ocean's Effect on Weather and Climate
This SciPack was a little more difficult to understand than some of the others I have taken. It was very educational, but I found myself having to review a lot of the information because I was unable to grasp it at first. Overall it was very educational and I did learn a little bit more about why our weather works the way it does. Explaining this type of material to Elementary students is definitely going to be a little bit challenging for me.

5 Earth, Sun, and Moon
This SciPack was fantastic! I really learned a lot from it. Before going through this SciPack, I was under the impression that I understood the moon phases and eclipses, but really I was very confused about it all. This SciPack made it easy to understand and gave me ideas for explaining the concepts to my future students. It is amazing how preconceptions of the Earth, Sun, and Moon can get in the way of truly understanding how they function and work. This SciPack was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone searching for a better understanding of the Earth, Sun, and Moon.
