NSTA is excited to continue its collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT) in delivering 7.00x: Introduction to Biology - The Secret of Life, a free
open course that helps teachers refresh their subject matter knowledge. The
14-week MITx course, running through December 2013, is led by MIT professor
Eric Lander, a leader of the Human Genome Project.
The NSTA support component for 7.00x provides targeted resources to help educators understand the pedagogical implications of the course content. This pedagogical component also shares strategies to address student preconceptions and facilitate student understanding of challenging biological phenomena.
