Engage the imagination of your math and science students through innovative applications from the world of engineering. Help students see how engineers apply the same subject matter they are learning to create technology and benefit our lives. Set up classroom activities so your students work in teams and approach learning by thinking like engineers and doing engineering. Grades 3-12 science and math teachers are welcome to join Dr. Mike Mooney, Associate Professor at Colorado School of Mines and Mindy Zarske, K-12 Engineering Coordinator for the University of Colorado at Boulder's Integrated Teaching and Learning (ITL) Program for this free and interactive seminar. An archive of this program and related PowerPoint presentation will be available at the end of the program.
This web seminar can be used by new teachers of science or by those who have not taught engineering concepts before. The presenters also provide resources in the NSDL collection that relate engineering for the math and/or science classroom.
