HOW ARE WEB PAGES EVALUATED?

Writing

Quality of writing: Instructional and explanatory text is well written. Content is communicated clearly. Content is free of production errors (for example, misspellings, general formatting problems, and so on). Writing style, length of sentences, and vocabulary are appropriate to the grade level and audience. Additional tools, if needed, are provided (for example, hot-linked glossaries for terms not fully explained in the text).

Participants rate the web page for the following criteria:

Poor Fair Good

i. Page is not broken into paragraphs or some other logical structure and contains significant errors in grammar, many punctuation mistakes, and frequent spelling errors. All in all the page needs extensive editing.

i. Page features long or incomplete paragraphs, has minor problems with grammar, some internal punctuation is missing or wrong, and it exhibits a few spelling errors. In the end, the page needs minor editing.

i. The organizational structure of the page is clear, coherent and concise; grammar is correct; the punctuation is accurate; and spelling is correct. The page needs no editing.
