The American Museum of Natural History’s online professional learning program Seminars on Science offers six-week online graduate courses in the life, Earth, and physical sciences. The courses are asynchronous, providing students with the flexibility to complete weekly activities at their own pace. The course format includes case studies, textbook readings, videos, interactive simulations, image galleries, and vibrant discussions that connect students to the Museum’s scientists, laboratories, expeditions, and specimens. Each course is co-taught by an experienced educator and research scientist in a manner consistent with the Next Generation Science Standards. Montana State University's National Teachers Enhancement Network (NTEN) offers online science courses designed to help K - 12 teachers and other educators improve and enhance their understanding of science content. Since 1993, NTEN has offered about 15 online graduate courses each semester in topics ranging from physics to plant science to nutrition, and more. Courses can be taken for professional development or as part of one of our five 12-credit online graduate certificates (Life Science, Physics, Chemistry, Elementary Science and Earth Science). Courses can also be applied to MSU's Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) graduate degree program: an intercollege, interdisciplinary graduate program that integrates learning and the discovery of knowledge in a collaborative academic environment.
