Live Web Sessions

live web sessions screenshot During the online short course, participants meet live online with the course instructor and NSTA staff for 90-minute sessions where they can ask questions, share ideas for discussion, and interact with the presenters’ PowerPoint presentation using mark-up tools available in the web sessions’ software.

To assure you of a pleasant experience during the live web sessions, the first few minutes, of the 90-minute program are dedicated to training and review to give you time to get acquainted with the interactive tools. If during the live web session you experience problems, a live web session technical support person will assist you. All live web sessions are recorded for viewing after the live program has occurred.

Throughout the 90-minute live session you will have the opportunity to interact with the presenters in several ways. You can speak to the presenters using your computer microphone. To speak via the computer you must use a headset. A computer headset including a microphone and headphones may be available at computer and/or electronic stores in your area. You can communicate with the presenters and other participants via the direct messaging window. Private communication as well as communicating with the entire class is possible. The presenters will also provide many interactive live web sessions screenshot slides, like poll questions, multiple choice questions, word problems, etc., where participants will use the software’s "mark-up" tools to respond.

Before the first live web session is scheduled, go to: http://www.elluminate.com/support to make sure that you have Java Web Start on your computer. Also, visit the Elluminate Live! CONFIGURATION ROOM to set-up your computer's audio. This will verify that your computer has the proper plug-in and is configured to participate in the live web session.

In addition, we recommend you watch a 5-minute RECORDED ORIENTATION of the features of Elluminate Live!
