How to Avoid Disqualification in ExploraVision?

This Web Seminar took place on January 18, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern
Time. Presenting was Brian Short from NSTA and Brenda Conwell-Dudley from Ashburn,
Virginia. The presenters provided an overview of the ExploraVision program and specific
tips on how to avoid disqualification.

In this Seminar, the presenters provided information on the basic components of
the ExploraVision program, emphasizing the most common mistakes that lead to disqualification.
To give participants an "insider's view" of the competition, Ms. Conwell-Dudley
shared her experience as a mentor in the program. She and Mr. Short answered numerous
questions submitted by seminar participants. Teachers competing in the program this
year are encouraged to view the archive to help them appropriately prepare their
entries.
Thirty-three (33) participants were present at the live Web Seminar in addition
to the presenters and NSTA staff. Participating educators represented the states
of California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New
Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Two participants
joined the presentation from locations outside of the United States: Canada and
Germany.
Seminar participants received one of the NSTA SciGuides. A certificate
of attendance was deposited into participants' My PD Record and Certificates
area in the NSTA Learning Center for completing the evaluation form at the end of
the program.
