ExploraVision Tips and Online Resources
|
This web seminar took place on November 15, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern
Time. The presenters were Eric Crossley, Director of Science Education Competitions
at NSTA; Kathryn Baham, a teacher at Fairmont Private School in Anaheim, California;
and Dan Borges, a teacher at David Thompson Secondary in Vancouver, Canada. In this
program the presenters explained how to use the ExploraVision website to access
information about past competitions, register teams for the upcoming competition,
and find resources for the classroom.
The PowerPoint, related resources from the NSTA Learning Center, and web links from
the presentation are now contained in the above resource collection. Clicking on
the collection link will place it in your Learning Center, My Library,
neatly organized under the My Resource Collections tab.
This was the third program in a series of web seminars focused on the ExploraVision
competition. During the presentation, Mr. Crossley introduced participants to the
history and components of the competition, then shared information about the prizes
that teams can potentially win. Ms. Baham and Mr. Borges highlighted sections of
the ExploraVision website and provided details about the online registration process.
Then Ms. Baham and Mr. Borges shared insights from their own experiences coaching
winning teams.
Seminar participants received an NSTA SciGuide. A certificate of attendance
was deposited into participants' My PD Record and Certificates area in
the NSTA Learning Center for completing the evaluation form at the end of the program.
Here are some comments provided by the participants at the end of the web seminar:
