This Web Seminar took place on October 14, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern
Time. Presenting was Brian Short from NSTA and Tony Rose a teacher at Northside
Elementary in Palmyra, Pennsylvania and a National Award Runner-up. The presenters
provided an overview of the ExploraVision program and instructions on how to use
the website to register teams.
The presenter provided information on the basic components of ExploraVision program
with an emphasis on using the ExploraVision website to access information about
past competitions, register teams for the upcoming competition, and how to access
resources for the classroom. Members of the NSTA and Toshiba teams attended the
program and Miz Fischer assisted by answering participants’ questions on the chat
window.
Forty-two (42) participants were present at the live Web Seminar in addition to
the presenters and NSTA staff. Participating educators represented the states of
Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,
Texas, Virginia and Washington. One person attended from Canada.
Seminar participants received a one year subscription to one of NSTA’s SciGuides
and a certificate of attendance was deposited into their My Transcript area in the
NSTA Learning Center for completing the evaluation form at the end of the program.
