The NSTA Learning Center: Resources and Tools for Your Summer PD
This Web Seminar took place on May 4, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Presenting was Flavio Mendez, Senior Director NSTA Learning Center. In this Seminar, Mr. Mendez gave an in depth look at the PD Plan and Portfolio Tool and a brief overview of the Learning Center resources.
Flavio Mendez focused this Learning Center presentation on a very valuable and somewhat
underutilized tool in the Learning Center: The PD Plan and Portfolio Tool. This
tool allows educators to set goals for their professional development and then add
evidences of completing those goals and resources for accomplishing them. Mr. Mendez
showed the participants how to use the PD Plan and Portfolio tool in both of the
above ways and described how Learning Center resources have a button to ‘Add to
Plan’ to make access to NSTA resources a convenient part of your professional development
Thirty-four (34) participants were present at the live Web Seminar in addition to
the presenter and NSTA staff. Participating educators represented the states of
California, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio,
Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin.
