The NSTA Learning Center:
New Resources and Tools

The Learning Center home page This Web Seminar took place on October 19, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Presenting was Flavio Mendez, Senior Director NSTA Learning Center. In this Seminar, Mr. Mendez gave a brief overview of the Learning Center resources and focused his attention on some of the new products and tools that are available in the Learning Center.


In this program, Mr. Mendez talked about some of the new features and products of the NSTA Learning Center including the ability to share collections publicly and the Nutrition and Atomic Structure SciPacks. He also told participants about an upcoming feature of the Learning Center, which will allow users to access a live, online support person to help them navigate the Learning Center resources and tools.


Seventy-two (72) participants were present at the live Web Seminar in addition to the presenter and NSTA staff. Participating educators represented the states of Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.


Here are some comments provided by the participants at the end of the Web Seminar:

  • “Clarified a lot of things I was unfamiliar with in a straight forward way. NSTA has been such a wonderful resource and support for me as a teacher and it keeps getting better!”
