NSTA Learning Center Collections: Grouping and Sharing Resources
This web seminar took place on November 13, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern
Time. The presenter was Flavio Mendez, Senior Director,
NSTA Learning Center. In this seminar Mr. Mendez provided an in-depth look at the
Learning Center’s My Library tool, which allows users to add resources
to access later, recommend resources to friends and colleagues, and organize resources
in personalized collections.
The PowerPoint, related resources from the NSTA Learning Center, and web links from
the presentation are now contained in the above resource collection. Clicking on
the collection link will place it in your Learning Center, My Library,
neatly organized under the My Resource Collections tab.
During this web seminar Mr. Mendez showed participants how to make the most of the
My Library tool. He shared step-by-step instructions for each of the functions
associated with My Library, including sharing resources with other teachers,
uploading personal resources, saving favorite websites, and creating collections
to keep resources organized around a theme. Web seminar participants had the opportunity
to visit the Learning Center and practice adding, sharing, and grouping resources
in their own libraries.
Seminar participants received one of the NSTA SciGuides. A certificate
of attendance was deposited into participants' My PD Record and Certificates
area in the NSTA Learning Center for completing the evaluation form at the end of
