Developing a Competitive Application for the Shell Science Teaching Award

This web seminar took place on October 15, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. eastern daylight time. The presenter was Tamica Stubbs, Science Instructor and STEM Coordinator, Phillip O Berry Academy of Technology High School.


Tamica began the presentation with an overview of the Shell Science Teaching Award and the prize package awarded to the winner. She then described the submission procedures and selection process. Tamica also shared strategies for preparing the different sections of the application, including the teaching philosophy, instructional method, semifinalist video, and finalist site visit. Participants had the opportunity to submit their questions about applying.

A certificate of attendance was deposited into participants' My PD Record and Certificate area in the NSTA Learning Center for completing the evaluation form at the end of the program.
