Using the NSTA Learning Center as an Online Textbook
for Teaching Science Pre-service Teachers
This web seminar took place on September 22, 2015, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern
time. The presenters were Flavio Mendez, Senior Director
of the NSTA Learning Center and Dr. Heather Domjan,
Professor of Science Education at the University of Houston.
Mr. Mendez gave an overview of the NSTA Learning Center and described how it can
be used as an online textbook at the college and university level. He shared examples
of successful application in pre-service teacher classrooms then invited Dr. Domjan
to share her own experiences using the Learning Center with her students.
