Teach Science Concepts and Inquiry with Food and Cosmetics
All web seminar participants use online tools that allow them to mark-up presenter's slides or share desktop applications in addition to engaging in chat with others online and answering poll questions

Join us for two, free Web Seminars featuring scientists and education specialists from the Food and Drug Administration, FDA. The first web seminar will focus on the topic of salt. The presenter will define salt and talk about how it is found and made. He also will discuss how salt affects our health. The topic of the second web seminar is cosmetic safety. In this web seminar the presenter will share the history of cosmetic safety in the United States, how cosmetic safety is regulated today, and some of the cosmetic safety issues the FDA has tackled. During both seminars the presenters will share their science expertise, answer questions from the participants, and provide information regarding web sites that students can use in the classroom. These Web Seminars are designed for educators of grades 5–8.

Each web seminar is a unique, stand-alone, program. Archives of these web seminars and the presenters’ PowerPoint presentations will be available on this web page. Learn more about the features of the Web Seminar and read answers to frequently asked questions from participants.
