Thanks to participants and presenters for a fantastic Evening!
"Karen and Emily
are wonderful presenters. I look forward to more presentations from the both of
them in the future. I also hope another book is in the works!!" This is just one
of many positive comments provided by participants at the end of the
Web Seminar on April 28.
The session began at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time with a general overview of the Web Seminar
tools and how they can be used to facilitate interaction between participants and
presenters. Fourteen participants were present in addition to our speakers, Karen
Ansberry and Emily Morgan, and the NSTA staff. Teachers represented the states of
Alaska, New York, Colorado, Maryland, Texas, and Pennsylvania.
Karen and Emily talked about the lesson Brainstorms - From Idea to Invention! This
lesson focuses on a variety of reading strategies - making connections, questioning,
visualizing, inferring, determining importance, and synthesizing. Throughout the
presentation there were several opportunities for interactions - drawing a scientist,
answering poll questions, and selecting the best answer from selected lists of statements.
Thanks to our participants and speakers for the learning, the interactions, and
a job well done!
