Preparing for the Journey to Space

symposium participants This symposium provided participants the opportunity to interact with NASA scientists and education specialists. Teachers learned about the recent changes made to the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station (ISS) as NASA "returned to flight." They also learned about the Sun-source of energy-and the ISS power systems. Two activities were modeled, one about the Sun and its rotation rate and another about the Sun as an energy source. Participating teachers received educational materials from NASA.
