FDA/NSTA Symposium:


 Food Safety and Nutrition
Teachers study the food labels of different products

During this full-day symposium, FDA scientists and master educators guided participants through easy-to-understand explanations about the food label and nutrition, food science careers, foodborne pathogens, and outbreaks. In addition the presenters performed activities that participants can use in their classrooms with their students. They also showed a preview of a very exciting and new educational resource that the FDA is developing related to the food label. The program was designed for teachers of grades 5-8.


All participants received educational materials from the FDA. Two BAC (Bacteria) puppets were given away as door prizes.
