Picture-Perfect Science Lessons: Using Children’s Books to
Guide Inquiry, Grades K-4
Co-authored Picture-Perfect Science Lessons to give science teachers the tools they need to help students learn to read and read to learn. She is the elementary science curriculum leader for Mason City Schools in Mason, Ohio, and was a classroom teacher of grades 5 and 6. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Xavier University and a master’s in teaching from Miami University.
Feels that tapping into students’ fascination with science will give them the motivation to read about it. She taught middle and elementary school science for a decade and is currently the Science Leader for the High AIMS Consortium in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a bachelor’s degree in education from Wright State University and a master’s in education from the University of Dayton.
