Igniting Students’ Interests in Science Careers
|
Two Web Seminars were presented featuring scientists and education specialists from
Sally Ride Science. The seminars focused on the wide variety of science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers available, the many paths to becoming
a scientist, and the vibrant men and women involved in science today. The presenters
demonstrated tools for encouraging students to think about their interests, future
careers, and map out their short- and long-term goals. The presenters shared their
science expertise, answered questions from the participants, and provided information
regarding web sites that students can use in the classroom. These Web Seminars were
designed for educators of grades 6–9.
