Earth Then, Earth Now: Our Changing Climate
|
Two Web Seminars were presented, one featuring NOAA scientist Dr. Mike Winton and the other USFS Urban Natural Resource Institute’s Dr. David Bloniarz and USFS Conservation Education Specialist, Vicki Arthur.
The seminars focused on the basic science behind our understanding of climate change, and global impacts on the atmosphere, ecosystems, forests and oceans around the world. They also discussed curriculum that is designed to teach elements of Urban Forest management and conservation. The presenters shared their science expertise, answered questions from the participants, and provided information regarding web sites that teachers can use with their students in the classroom. These Web Seminars were designed for educators of grades 5-12.
Each web seminar is a unique, stand-alone, program. Archives of these web seminars
and the presenters’ PowerPoint presentations will be available on this web page.
