Energy: Stop Faking It! |
This half-day symposium gave participants an opportunity to interact with Dr. Bill
Robertson, author of the popular NSTA Press series: Stop Faking It! In this face-to-face
experience, Dr. Robertson talked about the concept of energy, and used examples
from his book: Energy: Stop Faking It! Using many easy-to-find materials
like paper cups, marbles, rulers, toy-car ramps, balloons, etc., he engaged the
audience and guided discussion to assist teachers' understanding of concepts like
potential and kinetic energy, work, and conservation of energy. All participants
received a copy of the NSTA Press publication: Energy: Stop Faking It!
This symposium took place at the NSTA National Conference on Science Education in
St. Louis, MO.
