Two web seminars on Food Safety and Nutrition were held with presenters Dr. Patrick McCarthy, Epidemiologist from the Office of Food Defense, Communication, and Emergency Response, and Crystal Rasnake, Nutritionist in the Office of Nutrition, Labeling, and Dietary Supplements in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition at the Food and Drug Administration. The seminars focused on food microbiology, food processing, food epidemiology, the food label, the 2005 Dietary Guidelines, outbreak investigations, and the public health impact of food safety. These Web Seminars were designed for educators of grades 5–8.
