Creative, inquiry-based lessons with buoys addressed STEM and science standards while promoting teamwork.
This interesting article covers all components of STEM and NGSS in its lessons. First students learned about buoys and also did experiments about floating and sinking. Then they constructed their own buoys and tested them in a wading pool. The teachers asked leading questions about construction to help the students’ analytical thinking skills. Then they added a payload of a weather instrument.

The subtitle here says it all; "creative inquiry-based lessons with buoys connect STEM ( and I would add NGSS) standards and promote teamwork." This is a keeper!
