This profession requires an understanding of the science of genetics and the ability to work with people in an emotional environment. Genetics is a complicated field. Sometimes people carry markers for a genetic disease that might cause years of problems and pain to babies born with these diseases and the families they are part of. Yet, in many ways her job is not only interesting but satisfying. This article describes her work, her educational background, how she became interested in this field and advice to students.
