Hi I am creating a 5E lesson plan for a 3rd grade class. This lesson will be focused on adaptations; specifically the four main reasons for an animal to adapt. I would like to evaluate my students comprehension as the end of the lesson, but I do not want to give my students a traditional quiz or test. How would you recomend that I evaluate 3rd grade students on adaptation? Thank you!

This is something similar to what I've done with my high school students.
You could have them make a poster or write a story where an imaginary
species is adapting to various situations in various ways. Say "show &
explain all 4 methods" in the instructions. Some of my kids really like
being creative & they all like to vary assessment so it generally goes over
well. (I do stress I'm grading biology knowledge, not art skill!)
