I teach fourth grade and I'm looking for advice on engaging ways to teach students how to analyze and interpret data from maps to describe patterns of Earth's features. I find that students have trouble reading and analyzing maps. In the past, I have had students try to plot volcanoes on a map grid, but this was confusing to them. I have also tried to have them use interactive map to analyze the data, but they still struggling to identify and make sense of the patterns that appear.
