Professional Learning

Join NSTA for the #Science60!

Hello educators!

NSTA is running an engagement campaign this summer titled #Science60 to recognize educators as they complete professional learning experiences. Over the next 60 days, teachers will visit the Learning Center (http://learningcenter.nsta.org/science60) to document what they’ve been doing to better themselves on behalf of their students.

We would like to invite you to join #Science60 today and share what you are doing with the NSTA community. It is easy to participate – just go to the #Science60 webpage and describe your professional learning experiences, the number of hours, etc. You can include as much detail as you like – be creative with your entry! Your comments will serve as encouragement to other educators as they work during their “summer-break.”

Not sure what activities you can try over the summer? Check out our list of ideas, or scroll to the bottom of the page to see what others in the community have already completed!

We look forward to recognizing your achievements over the next 60 days! Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Megan for getting this thread started.  I've enjoyed reading everyone's #Science60 submissions so far - so many different ways teachers are working on to enhance their teaching skills; very inspiring!

Question - Has anyone visited a science center or museum this summer?  Read a book?  Tell us more about it here.  Feel free to leave behind a link or two.

Below my contribution to this professional learning discussion (a couple of articles that may be of interest):
