VSEPR Lecture Demonstration

I am creating demonstration videos for my online chemistry course to supplement the lecture materials. I am looking for suggestions for a VSEPR demonstration. I've commonly seen balloons as models for molecular shape but I want these videos to use chemicals.

The only ideas I've come up with so far are:

  • ebonite rod/glass rod near a water stream and near a toluene stream
  • Magic sand in water

These don't have much "wow", though. The first video ignites nitrocellulose (that's wow!) and the second video uses luminol to explain electron configuration. I don't feel like either of these VSEPR activities have enough spectacle to match the first two. I welcome all ideas! (I have a very small budget ... $50 per video)
