Hello! I am trying to find the best way to teach elementary school science. Would a science jounral that they have physically in their hand be better or would an electronic portfolio be a smarter idea? Thank you!

Hi Kendall -- You have an interesting question! I guess I'm old-school but I would use a physical journal, especially with younger students. They can focus on the content of the journal, rather than also dealing with the additional level of learning the electronics. Once they understand what to include in a notebook, they could evolve into using an electronic version, if that is still appropriate. Also, in your school, would the students have access to their electronic journals at home or in the next year? There are many resources showing how notebooks/journals can be more than archives of documents. -- Mary B
