I am currently enrolled in the multiple subject teaching credential program at San Diego State University. As a student teacher, I enjoy learning new ways to incorporate student-based science teaching into the science curriculum. I am interested in incorporating NGSS Standards into the lessons I teach in the future.

I agree that science can be integrated to different subjects in the classroom. Especially in elementary science, students are more inclined to learn about the subject being taught when they can apply it to the real world. They can get hands-on experiences, both in and out of the classroom, and that can help with getting a more in-depth understanding of the material.

I think this is a great question, it's really important to engage students in science, especially in elementary school! I suggest that each lesson begins with something engaging that students can ask several questions about. Inquiry is key in science! They are able to develop their own explanations and learn new information if they are ensure about something.
