As a new teacher, they advise you not to include any religious base things in a lesson and have no problem with that. SO, what do you do when you are teaching a lesson and it "disclaims" one of my student's religious believes?

4 Earth, Sun, and Moon: Earth's Seasons
1. Why did you choose to put this article in your collection? I knew that the reasons we had seasons was because the Earth orbited around the Sun but didn't know more beyond that. There is more information on this subject and I wanted to learn more about it and that is the reason why I choose this article. 2. What new information did you learn? I didn't know that when the Earth reaches many points (dates) while orbiting it has many names. For example, on July 4 is called Aphelion and on January 3rd is called Perihelion. 3. What TEKS would it go with and how could you use this information in your classroom? TEK 5. (8) Earth and space. The student knows that there are recognizable patterns in the natural world and among the Sun, Earth, and Moon system. The student is expected to: (A) differentiate between weather and climate; (B) explain how the Sun and the ocean interact in the water cycle; 4. Based on your experience, is there anything in the article that you agree with? Disagree with? Have questions about? I agree with all of the information because I didn't know much before. It is great for students to know about this because it gives you the answers on why we have seasons and how it works.

What new information did you learn? The word Entropy was some new information I had learn from reading this article. Entropy is a thermodynamic quantity representing the unavailability of a system's thermal energy for conversion into mechanical work, often interpreted as the degree of disorder or randomness in the system. 3. What TEKS would it go with and how could you use this information in your classroom? TEK 5. (6) Force, motion, and energy. The student knows that energy occurs in many forms and can be observed in cycles, patterns, and systems. The student is expected to: (A) explore the uses of energy, including mechanical, light, thermal, electrical, and sound energy; (B) demonstrate that the flow of electricity in closed circuits can produce light, heat, or sound; 4. Based on your experience, is there anything in the article that you agree with? Disagree with? Have questions about? I agree with all this information given because before I believed I knew what Energy was all about. Now I know there is many more forms of energy.

4 Organisms: Grades K-4
1. Why did you choose to put this article in your collection? This article is great for students to demonstrate that living things are similar in some way or form but have different needs. 2. What new information did you learn? Ecosystems can be found wherever organisms are living and interacting, including deep in ocean trenches and floating high in Earth’s atmosphere. 3. What TEKS would it go with and how could you use this information in your classroom? K.(9) Organisms and environments. The student knows that plants and animals have basic needs and depend on the living and nonliving things around them for survival. The student is expected to:\ (10) Organisms and environments. The student knows that organisms resemble their parents and have structures and processes that help them survive within their environments. The student is expected to: (A) sort plants and animals into groups based on physical characteristics such as color, size, body covering, or leaf shape; 4. Based on your experience, is there anything in the article that you agree with? Disagree with? Have questions about? I agree with this article because it states the facts about Organisms and doesn't go around in circles with other information that is not needed.
