You could have the students follow the migration of monarch butterflies. Have them track where they go and why they might be going there. To get the environmental science aspect, ask them what may happen if the butterflies skipped a particular area or stopped migrating altogether? I think it would be a great idea to open it up to younger students. They look up to the older students so much and it would be really helpful for them to see what they have made. This can help the younger students grow their interest in the sciences at a young age.

I think the scale model would be very helpful. You can have them watch the video and then look at the models to get more hands-on experience. I still struggle with grasping how vast the universe is as well. Sometimes comparing the distance to objects they know helps as well, such as x many football fields.
