I think you've provided some great points here! Misconceptions are almost inevitable in the elementary classroom. Students like to create these concepts and thoughts up in their head that may not necessarily be true in the real world, in the science world. I believe that it is important that we tackle these misconceptions the moment they arise to avoid further confusion. I've noticed that many tea...

I am going to be a new teacher too in less than a year! While I am nervous I'm also very excited to finally have my own class and be able to work every day with my students. Science can be a tricky subject to get kids interested in I've noticed from doing some field experience hours inside of schools, but I've found this website to be a great resource for inquiry based activities that really get t...

One thing that I have seen some of the teachers I have observed that seems to be extremely effective is that, as difficult as it may be, we need to surrender some responsibility to our students. We need to make our students feel as though they are important and an asset to the classroom learning environment. What I have observed other teachers do is that they allow the students to work in groups o...

5 Insightful
I find this collection to be extremely useful for all elementary teachers teaching science. It has many sources that provide a large array of information regarding matter and its property changes and components. Teachers can use the information found in this collection to help build upon their own knowledge of matter to make sure they are well educated when teaching the topic, and even share some of it with their students. I found the podcast regarding matter and its interactions to be extremely useful in a science classroom. It is a great tool to show students exactly how all of the elements of matter work and make it what it is.

5 Very resourceful
This collection can be resourceful to any classroom teacher that is covering the topic of the environment and the organisms in that particular environment. Personally, as time consuming as it may be, the interdependence of life sic-pack is one that is very broad and informative that covers a lot of the overall topics and concepts. It can be resourceful to students covering this subject matter and can even be assigned to be completed as part of an assignment grade. The teacher should considering designating sufficient time however for it's competition as it does take a great deal of time to complete. I also took the time to skim through a bit of the podcast about bees, which I found to be very informative. It provided a great deal of information regarding animals that pollinate and how the pollination process takes place. This could be useful for students when they are beginning to cover the topic of plants and flowers. It could help them show the important of pollination and how without, it may effect the other relationships organisms in that particular environment have with either the plant or the animal that pollinates it. This then leads into the next resource I found to be useful which is the species relationship science object. The science object provides teachers and students with a great deal of information about the different relationships that take place our world and what their effects are to both organisms that are involved in that relationship. This type of science object can aid students in the understanding of why organisms have to work with one another in order for both of them to survive and be able to benefit in life. Overall, I found this collection to be very useful and beneficial for any classroom teacher who is working with their students on topics about the environment, organisms, and even their survival. There are various types of resources presented which can benefit the different style of learners that are always present in the classroom.
